The Remains of Take-mon Gate
There were two gates named Take-mon in the premises of Naegi Castle. Both were two-leg structures and located at the outer wall of the castle. The name Take-mon ("Take" means bamboo) derives from the gate door made of bamboo. There were no gatekeepers. The gate was kept open all the time. The path going up to the castle from the Kiso-gawa River, Shiju-hachi magari-michi, turns right a little on this side of the gate.
